Seamark Community Arts

    Nurturing the Creative Spirit!

Seamark Community Arts stimulates creativity, self-discovery and a sense of community in people of all ages and abilities for a diverse coastal population through the visual arts.

    Seamark strives:

  • to offer arts and cultural enrichment opportunities to Deer Isle and surrounding communities.
  • to stimulate knowledge of the arts through workshops and performances using a rich trove of local artists and community members as resources.
  • to make the visual arts available to all through scholarships and grants.
  • to sponsor visual and performing artists in the schools for performances and workshops.
  • to administrate workshops for the professional development of educators promoting the integration of arts in the public school curriculum.
  • to bring members of the community into the elementary school classrooms to expose children to well-known works of art through a monthly art presentation.
Seamark's events include: summer and winter art workshops, semi-annual PenBay adventure cruise, annual summer art auction, studio tours, artist in residency workshops in the public schools, annual Men Who Cook benefit dinner, and more.

Seamark receives its funding through private donations, bi-annual fundraising events, and project grants.
