Classes will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays
from 10 a.m. to noon

at the Seamark Building on Church Street in the village of Deer Isle.
Most class are limited to eight participants so register early.
The cost of each week (two classes) is $25 plus the materials fee.
There are full & partial scholarships and family rates available.

10% off class fees for full payment at least one week before class starts.

July 1 & 3
Mask Making with Jennifer Morrow Wilson
from 10 to noon
Use cardboard, yarn, paint, milk jugs, foam and other materials to make a mask and props for the Deer Isle 4th of July parade. This year’s theme is fairy tale characters.

Fee $25. Materials $3.


July 8 & 10
Bookbinding with Jennifer Morrow Wilson
from 10 to noon
Learn how to bind blank books for journal writing, photos or sketching using colorful papers of all kinds. Bindings will include shaped books, stitched books, accordion books , books with pockets and others.

Fee $25. Materials $5.

Island Arts Camp

Treasures from the Sea with Anne Claude Cotty
from 10 to noon
Let's draw up an ocean of creatures with lots of fun materials! We'll draw from life and fill in with imagination!

July 29 & 31
Clay Animals from Barnyard to Zoo with Sue Wilmot
from 10 to noon
Learn about the properties of clay . . . how it is shaped and formed, how it is put together and taken from, how its’ shape is easily changed. We will be making animals in low fire clay for our “farm” and “zoo” that will be clear glazed and fired after the class. Students will also make beads that incorporate the animal theme.

August 5 & 7
Wood Sculpture with Julie Morringello
from 10 to noon
Have fun building wooden structures using hammer & nails. All tools provided, just bring your imagination.

August 12 & 14
Field Sketching with Holley Mead
from 10 to noon
Explore special island spots with sketchbooks. Learn how to record your impressions in pencil, pen & ink and colored pencil.

Fee $25. Materials $3.


August 19 & 21
Puppetmaking with Jennifer Morrow Wilson
from 10 to noon
Explore the character building world of puppetry starting with paper and cardboard and continuing on to dowels, pipe cleaners, fabric and modeling compound.

Fee $25. Materials $5.


August 26 & 28
Weaving with Chris Leith
from 10 to noon Fee: $25 Materials: $5
Use a small loom and colorful yarns to learn the basics of weaving, making shapes and blending colors in your own small tapestry.

Fee $25. Materials $5.
